Update on Williamson Act – SB863 Decision
On December 15, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted to not opt into Senate Bill 863, the new bill which allowed counties to renegotiate Williamson Act Contracts and reassess affected parcels to recoup a portion of the lost state funding.
The issue was heard before the Board, and after reviewing the options, benefits, and potential impacts to local property owners, the Board decided not to opt into the SB 863 program.
What this means to Williamson Contract Landowners:
No action is required of landowners with Williamson Contracts. The program does not change, and your tax assessment will not change.
