Article I Name and Rights of the County

SECTION 1. The County of Sacramento, as it now exists, is a body corporate and politic, and as such has and shall have all the rights and powers which are now or may be hereafter provided by the Constitution and laws of the State of California, and by this Charter, including the right and power to acquire, own and operate public utilities; and it shall have such other powers as are necessarily implied. SECTION 2. The powers mentioned in the preceding Section can be exercised only by a Board of Supervisors, or by agents or officers acting under their authority, or by authority of law, or of this Charter. SECTION 3. The corporate name shall be County of Sacramento, and by that name it must be designated in all actions and proceedings affecting its corporate rights, properties, powers and duties.
